About SIFE

Founded in 1975, SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) is a non-profit educational organization that works with business and higher education. It provides college students with the leadership experience of establishing a variety of community outreach programs that teach others how market economics and business operate.

SIFE business supporters (individuals, corporations, and foundations) provide financial support for SIFE competitions, serve as judges and competition coordinators, and provide funds for prize money and trophies awarded to winning teams. By partnering businesses with higher education, SIFE creates career building connections between college students and SIFE donors.

In the past ten years at Centenary College, more than 1,000 students have participated in SIFE projects and presentations. Our team members hail from more than thirty-five countries across five continents, with a range of more than fifteen different majors. Their participation has included the development and implementation of more than 1,000 projects that meet the educational needs surrounding free market economics, skills needed in the global economy, personal financial skills, ethics and sociology.

Centenary College's SIFE Team's commitment to social responsibility equates to hundreds of hours spent teaching K-12 classrooms, at community events, and with residents from the Children's Home of Easton. Centenary College has worked with senior citizens in a local retirement and community center and works with other non-profit groups such as the Key Club, Main Street New Jersey, Trust for Historic Preservation, and the Association of Retarded Citizens (ARC).

The Centenary College SIFE Team's efforts have been recognized with awards from the Warren County Humanity Commission and the Warren County Department of Economic Development & Tourism.
